A Lifetime in Prison
Mike is the oldest member of the 1000 Mile Club. He has been in prison for over 45 years; the outside world is entirely different than he remember.

Running Brings People Together
The 1000 Mile Club is the most diverse club in San Quentin. While the lower yard is very racially segregated, the 1000 Mile Club members unite and support one another.
The Gazelle of San Quentin
Markelle is the fastest runner in the 1000 Mile Club. He is known throughout the California Prison system as “Markelle the Gazelle.”
No Shower Time
After running in the California sun, many of the club members are not able to take showers until one or two days later.
